Your computer is fine. Why switch to
|
Is your current operating system really "fine"?
Windows has recently been hit with a lot of leaked NSA technology. The WannaCry virus was ransomware that infected 57,000 computers in one day. Unfortunately, many more exploits were getting leaked. Linux has not had anything as big as WannaCry so far. In fact, Linux is much more secure than Windows because if there's the small chance that you get a virus, it will need root (admin) access to cause real damage.
Is it hard to switch? It depends on the distribution. Most modern ones have an easy installation, where you don't have to sign up for a Live account or accept to your data being collected. You can even browse the web and watch a YouTube video while it's installing. However, you'll have to learn Linux just like you did with Windows, but by downloading user-friendly distributions like Deepin or Manjaro, it won't be a lot of work. However, it's well worth it because when you're done, you'll have the operating system of your dreams.
